Good circuit train
Sorry it’s been a while since my last post, things have been busy in my life. I’m heading out of town this weekend for a little R&R and it made me think of a good post. I wanted to jot down my at home circuit routine that I use on days that I just can’t make it to the gym.
You can’t always make it into the gym, shit happens. But, if you feel like you don’t have time to get to the gym but still want a decent workout at home there is a way to do it. Break a sweat and get that good pumping feeling in less than 30 minutes! Here is a good starting point if you are not into circuit training, and if you are, just add the appropriate weight for your level. Remember circuit training is ALWAYS about good form- so never sacrifice heavy weight for poor form.
Push-ups x 10
Jumping jacks x 20
Crunches x 15
Dumbbell rows x 15
Dumbbell shoulder press x 10
Lunges (w/dumbbells) x 15
Dumbbell curls x 15
Jump rope x 3 min
Complete the circuit moving quickly from one exercise to the next. Take 1
minute of rest before completing the circuit again and aim to do this 3 times. Remember if you feel like your heart rate is too high, it probably is. Stop and take a quick rest, bring it down and start again.
I’ll follow up this post with an entry focusing on heart rates because keeping close tabs on your heart rate is an important part of training. Lot’s of people have misconceptions about heart rates and where you want yours to be.
Have a great weekend!
