Bacn - Email you want, but not right now
Let’s take a minute and define a web 2.0 term that I love to use, and would love more people to use: Bacn
\ bā-kən \ sometimes -kəŋ \
Bacn is email you receive that isn’t spam…and isn’t personal mail. It’s the middle class of email. It’s notifications of a new post to your Facebook wall or a new follower on Twitter. It’s the Google alert for your name and the newsletter from your favorite company.
Bacn is email messages, which have been subscribed to, and are therefore not unsolicited but are often unread by the recipient for a long period of time, if at all.
So while Bacn is not as bad as the unsolicited Spam, it does make managing your email inbox a bit more difficult.
